However, after arriving at Monty's lair, our hero realizes that the evil doctor has setup a maze that our hero must navigate and fight his way through in order to find Dr. Monty.
Your game will come with the Mission Instructions booklet which includes the complete comic explaining your hero's predicament and the instructions to the game.
When you play, one player may play as the hero Commander Cornelius Crunch.
And the other may play as the Evil Dr. Monty Mechanical.
We strive to keep our games clean and fun for the whole family. We never put anything in the games that we as parents would object to. So in the this game, when we refer to ideas like "evil" and "monster", we very much mean in a whimsical and silly sense. There is nothing in the game that we would consider "dark" or "evil" in the way the Bible would interpret the words. We hope you will put your trust in our games to always provide a safe and enjoyable experience for your children! If you have any questions, PLEASE visit the contact us page. We'd love to hear from you!
Included in the game are forty-eight (48) maze cards. As Cornelius moves, you will reveal maze tiles one at a time and every time you play, it will form a new maze!
Every time Cornelius moves into a maze tile, he gets to draw a Happenstance Card.
Sometimes the happenstance cards grant Cornelius a new weapon he can take with him. You have to pick and choose which to take with you, though. Each wepaon has it's advantages. Each one deals a different amount and kind of damage (like fire vs. impact damage) and Monty's mechs and monsters are sometimes impervious to certain kinds of damage. Also, each weapon is kind of heavy, and Cornelius can only carry so much. After all, if he spent ALL his time in the gym, he wouldn't have any time to stop bad guys!
The happenstance cards may also grant Cornelius Gadgets. Sometimes he can take the gadget with him for the rest of the game and sometimes it is a one-time use thing. All times, though, they are super helpful!
Monty has sent out a horde of goofy monsters and hilarious robots to stop our intrepid hero before he can reach Monty's Lair!
Sometimes a happenstance will reveal an enemy you must fight to continue searching for Monty.
Sometimes events will occur when you draw a happenstance. Sometimes nothing happens and other times you will find that while you have been aimlessly wandering the maze, Monty Mckanikal has made some breakthrough to make himself tougher and more powerful in the final fight. Stop messing around and find him!

Doing battle is one of the most fun aspects of the game? I mean, who doesn't love getting to duke it out with a mad scientist?
Every weapon has a "Hit Range" telling you what numbers you must roll to fire the weapon at the enemy instead of completely missing him. Whoever is playing as Cornelius Crunch gets to fire any weapon you have brought with you, but you can only fire one of those weapons per turn.
Player 2 playing as Monty Mackanical gets to play as Monty himself in the end fight and as all the Monsters and Mechs that Cornelius will encounter along the way. Even if Cornelius rolls successfully, each opponent has a chance to dodge the shot. If player 2 rolls successfully within the "Dodge Range" then you take no damage from Cornelius' shot.
Now, Player 2 gets to return fire. Each Monster and Mech has their own unique hit and dodge ranges, so every fight will be a little challenging in its own ways. Corneluis also has a dodge range so every enemy that fires at him, even if they roll successfully, might not hurt him if he rolls well for dodges.
The damage each opponent has recieved is tracked with Heart cards.
A fight is over when either Cornelius is defeated (runs out of hearts) or the Mech or Monster is defeated. If Cornelius defeats a robot or monster, he continues moving through the maze. If Cornelius defeats Monty in the final fight, Commander Cornelius Crunch wins the game! If Cornelius is defeated in any fight, with Monty or his mechs or monsters, Monty wins the game.
